NOTES FROM HARLEM is a curated selection of the works of Sekou Luke, Harlem based artist and founder of Rebel Media. These images, captured throughout the Spring and Summer of 2020, illuminate Harlem as a community experiencing both a global pandemic and racial justice awakening with the Black Lives Matter movement after the death of George Floyd. For Sekou capturing these iconic moments, and meeting and photographing the residents of Harlem, became a mental wellness exercise. In dealing with the anxiety and uncertainty of these times, art is the cure.
